Little Family Hike

The Husband, Kids, Hounds and Me took advantage of our beautiful weather and got out of the house for the day! We decided to hike the lake Clementine trail along the American River in Auburn. The boys were pretty excited and decided on the way up that their mission was going to be finding a stick or as Brady said "a huge stick, huger than daddy!"

The Foresthill Bridge is amazing, It was fun to be under it and get the full effect of how high up it actually is
Copper and Ruger were all about getting into the river until they got about elbow deep, then they turned around and came back. It must have been freezing because Copper is usually all about swimming

My buddy Brady was right at home being outside and dirty! I always forget how much joy just being around nature brings these kids....and it's free entertainment so I definitely need to get them out to places like this more often.

yesssss.....Mission accomplished, found a huge stick!

notice how incredibly chubby miss Carlyn is getting, her cheeks and thighs are sooo squishy! I am in love!

Brett being himself, and making me nervous

After we hiked down to this pool along the river we decided that we better hike back out before we have two very tired boys who are tired of walking. They did about 2 1/2 miles, pretty good for being 5 and 3!

  1. 2 1/2 miles?!? Yeah, Mason would have lasted about a tenth of that... if I was lucky :)
