Pneumonia

About 3 weeks ago Carlyn got a cold along with the rest of us and sounded pretty bad so I took her to the doctor....diagnosis then: virus and her lungs were pretty clear the doc. said what we were hearing was post nasal drip rattling in her throat is all. Well, she never really got over it and so after hearing her get clearly worse I asked Brett to take her in again. This time it was not so great! After they gave her a breathing treatment in the office she was sent with Daddy to get a chest x-ray :( Brett said he had to hold her down and she was not happy about it. I am glad she had her daddy there but will admit that I have always been the one who goes to the doctor appts. and the fact that I couldn't be there for her was hard for me- I heard her cry in the back round when Brett called me with the update and fought the urge to race over to hold her!

After the results came back her diagnosis is Pneumonia
which means:
~Breathing Machine, nebulizer, gets broken out at home (we have one from when Brady was a baby and had RSV and then had Bronchiolitis) I now consider myself a pro on treating infants with the nebulizer
~Treatments of Albuterol every 4 hours
~Treatments of Steroids 2 times per day
~Antibiotics (which thank god she loves)
~a Steam Humidifier
~elevated sleep positioner

The doctor sent Brett home with a new mask and it's way better than the ones Brady had to use. This one is a pacifier contraption that blows the mist into her nose as she sucks, pretty inventive!

so so sick and still has a smile on her sweet face
