six flags discovery kingdom 2011

The Owen's have season passes to this place and got to bring a friend for free, they were nice enough to invite me and the boys out for a day of fun! notice my cautious child (Cole) wanted to watch from a safe distance since he'd "never held a bird before and the bird might hurt my arm with those big nails"
the always exciting butterfly house!

the kids wanted to spend a lot of time in here, it was neat to watch them get soo excited about the butterflies

there were a lot of fun rides and NO LINES! I think school started for a lot of kids this week

we didn't do the tiger show this time but got to see one of them on the prowl anyway

we had a picnic lunch in front of the elephants! I was happy because anytime we can bring in food and not buy a $25 cheeseburger that has been sitting under a warming light for 5 hours makes me a happy girl!

Lexie and Brady with Tweety! (Brady told me after that he didn't like meeting tweety because he was a girl) HA! I love this kid!

we watched the dolphin show which is always so much fun and after we got to see them have what the trainer referred to as free play! All 5 dolphins were zipping around with balls and hula hoops and gave the kids an up close show! I am not going to lie, it was pretty exciting for me too!

this little penguin next to Kyler was posing for our picture too

Cole told me that this was his favorite ride of the day

Amber has the most genius idea of a bribe they do every time.....it goes like this: "if you are really good and stay together, do not fight and have good manners all day we will get you cotton candy on the way out!" YES, We did laugh at ourselves because we have become moms who know what works...BRIBING YOUR KIDS WORKS PEOPLE! I am okay with it!

here they are a very happy little bunch :) PS-I ate a bite of Cole's and cotton candy is WAY better when you're a kid, I almost spit it out! I felt like I was grinding up grains of sugar between my teeth. Not worth the calories in my book....I would have held out for a better bribe like chocolate!

what a fun day for moms and big kids!!!!!

if you are wondering where Carlyn is, Brett was home with the little lady....we do not attempt theme parks with a crawling baby who is opinionated about riding in a stroller for long periods of time these days!!!
