Our Four-Year-Old, BRADY

On September 11th our baby boy turned 4! We went camping with some of his favorite buddies to celebrate! Our campground was gorgeous! On a massive reservoir surrounded by untouched mountains just outside of Truckee in the Tahoe National Forest Stampede was a place that I will most definitely be visiting with kids again.

We arrived Saturday September 10th in the afternoon and were greeted by this momma deer and her two babies! They are way too friendly and let the kids get super close the kiddies got started on camping fun as soon as their little feet hit the dirt
our nephew Hayden felt it was necessary to leave on his moto helmet when greeting the deer

Once all the guests arrived: Brady, Cole, Me, Brett, Uncle Ryan, Hayden, Grandpa, Grandma Mary, Aunt Stefanie, Uncle Tony, Tonio, Jayda, Uncle Kyle, Auntie Jena, Aubrey, and last but not least Addison

We cooked dinner for everyone (we means Brett smoked some yummy tri-tip) and then it was onto the party festivities

Gigantic Happy Birthday Cupcakes each equipped with it's own dinosaur

I am not sure if he liked them....??

Birthday kisses from mommy

Then there was the pinata! Brady's only requests for this trip were cheeze balls and a pinata. We found a cute bat pinata, cheeze balls and were were golden!!!

on to the presents!

after the gifts, we gave our guests their gifts which were glow stick swords for the boys and glow stick magic wands for the girls.

it's not camping unless you've had s'mores! I found amazing marshmallows that are giant and lots of fun to roast :) Here is the B-Day Boy having the time of his life!

The kids ran through the campground in the dark sword fighting with their glow sticks for a long time....then they crashed out in their tents in preparation for more fun in the morning....

We are reminded on this morning of how blessed we are to take a walk through the quiet forest, in our safe country, happy and healthy. Seeing my babies beside their dad ready to fish made me count my blessings and remember those who will never get the opportunity to make memories like these with their children or children's children because of this day 10 years ago.

one of the moments we'll never forget as parents....our boys each caught their first fish with Grandpa and Daddy

Brady's was first, he reeled this monster in and proceeded to grab it as soon as it was in reach! I don't think there is a better birthday gift than this for our little man. He was extremely proud of himself and was all about holding his catch

a little later Cole caught one! He reeled his in but once this guy was out of the water Cole backpedaled as quickly as his little feet would take him. I have a really funny video but it is long and won't load onto the blog. Grandpa couldn't convince him to grab his fish so he "hung" the fish from this stick...look closely, Cole has the most nervous smile on I have ever seen!!! I love it!

After fishing we headed back to camp to eat lunch, play more and pack up. Before we left we took the boys (Hayden, Cole and Brady) back down to the beach to tear it up on their dirt bikes! Well it seemed like a good idea at least. The sand was really hard for them to maneuver with the training wheels on, plus they were exhausted and crying half the time. So it was a short venture and we decided to head home.

If you know Brady well you know that this was THE most perfect way to spend his Birthday. He is the happiest, outside, free to be a boy! We love this kid more than life and cannot believe that he is already 4!

Happy Birthday to our amazing baby boy
