our buddy copper

for those of you who have known us for a long time know the story of Copper, for those of you who don't here is a cliff's notes version of who/what he meat to our family.

We adopted Copper when he was just a tiny 8 week old Bloodhound!  He was our first baby and we were in love!  He was healthy and happy until about 4 months old when he started getting very sick, long story short we began a 9 month roller coaster ride of sick puppy (we were told to put him down and that he would never recover from his immune deficiency/demodex mites)  Well after meeting his dermatologist Dr. Cannon, everything changed and since then Copper has been very very healthy, aside from some scars all of his fur grew back and he was healthy.  Copper was beyond excited when we brought his little bro Ruger home for him to play with everyday!  Those two were fun to watch, they loved each other and did everything together!

It's funny how a pet can become such a big part of you as a person.  Copper was there wagging his tail every day, no matter what kind of day it was or what mood I was in, Copper was always there for me.  Brett and I are grateful for the life lessons and responsibility that Copper taught us, for being there for every step of parenthood, for making us laugh, for protecting us from other people at the door (who were clearly not a threat but he was not too sure) and most of all for letting Cole, Brady and/or Carlyn use him as a horse and ride on his back.

We Love You Copper Dog
