Cole Turns 5 Years Old

Today our first born baby turned five years old. I cannot believe that its already been five years since we became parents! Cole was born on a day just like this one, rainy and cold, December 22ND five years ago in room 22 (which if you know Brett you know why this was so neat to us).

Dear Cole,

Your dad and I had no idea what it would be like to hold you, our first son, or what it would feel like to love a child of our own until this day 5 years ago. Seeing you for the first time was truly the most amazing gift your dad and I could have ever asked for, your beautiful little face and head full of black hair was perfect in every way. From the moment we held you we knew that our lives as regular people were changed forever, we now had a purpose greater than our own, we had you. Watching you grow and develop into the person you have become today has made your dad and I better people, we have learned so much from you and continue to be amazed by the joy you bring to our family. We are very proud of you. I am so glad that I have been there to spend these first five years with you, and you with me, learning from each other and laughing every day. There are so many changes to come in the next five years, we can't wait to see what life has in store for you buddy! We love you so very much Cole, Happy Birthday!
